President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is awaiting a report on the consequences and circumstances of the Russian missile strike on the Armed Forces training ground in the Kherson region.

"I am waiting for a full report on the consequences and all the circumstances of the Russian missile strike on the training ground in southern Ukraine. This strike took place today. Unfortunately, this is not the first such strike. Unfortunately, there are losses, there are wounded. We need full accountability," Zelenskyy emphasizes.

In addition, according to the President, he had a long conversation with Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko today about the defense of positions on the front line and the use of drones by the National Guard of Ukraine. According to Zelenskyy, he also had a conversation with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"Everything must be set up systematically so that Russian drones - Russian spies - are destroyed, and destroyed as quickly as possible," the President says.

Therefore, according to him, next week he will talk with partners about additional funding for the production of interceptor drones.

"Interceptors, drones for the front line, fiber-optic drones and all types of drones for strikes on Russian territory must be funded so that it is really felt. This will be - and there are already preliminary agreements with some of our partners - with some European countries," Zelenskyy adds.

Russia strikes Ukrainian Armed Forces training ground

On the evening of June 22, the Ukrainian Army reported that the Russian troops had launched a missile attack on a temporary training ground for one of the Ukrainian mechanized brigades. The Russian strike resulted in deaths and injuries among the Ukrainian military. At the same time, the Ukrainian command noted that due to the rapid response to the threat, much greater losses were avoided.

Later, the Ukrainian command clarified that at the time of the Russian strike, the personnel were scattered and in shelters, but some soldiers did not follow safety rules.

As RBC-Ukraine later learned from a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Land Forces, a training ground in the Mykolaiv region came under Russian fire.
