President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and proposed that he conclude a Drone Deal, according to Zelenskyy’s statement on Telegram.
"Security developments in the Middle East and the Gulf region, as well as key challenges and security opportunities, were discussed. They also talked about Iranian strikes against Bahrain and other countries, as well as the situation in the Strait of Hormuz," the president’s statement reads.
He noted that Ukraine is practically under similar terrorist attacks daily, and that Ukrainians have relevant experience in comprehensive defense.
"Ukraine is ready to share such security expertise with Bahrain and help strengthen the protection of life. I proposed concluding a Drone Deal and scaling up cooperation with Bahrain, and we agreed that our teams will work out the details," Zelenskyy said.
In addition, the leaders paid special attention to the development of bilateral economic relations and partnership in the field of agricultural production.
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Ukraine is ready to cooperate with Japan in the field of drones and unmanned systems. Kyiv also offers to share the experience gained during the full-scale war with Russia.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. During the meeting, they discussed defence support (including contributions to the PURL programme), energy, and peace initiatives.
In addition, the president met with Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo. Zelenskyy thanked Helsinki for its decision to allocate an additional $300 million in defence support to Ukraine and proposed strengthening the bilateral partnership by signing an agreement in the format of a Drone Deal.
