Ukraine will continue expanding its production of interceptor drones and plans to manufacture short- and medium-range air defense systems independently. The country must not depend on partners in this area, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.
Zelenskyy stressed that air defense is essential for the daily destruction of Russian missiles and drones. The Defense Ministry and military command will oversee the maximum ramp-up of interceptor drone production.
"Separately, we need short- and medium-range air defense. This is necessary both for the frontline and for protecting energy infrastructure. We have updated our needs, and we will increase production accordingly," he said.
Zelenskyy added that Ukrainian production will be the priority. This issue is so important that Ukraine cannot rely on its partners. Everyone involved will be personally responsible for establishing production.
"Our domestic Ukrainian production is a guarantee of protection. Ukrainians must not depend on whether something can be found on the global market or in partners' stockpiles. Production targets must be met on time, with personal responsibility at every level," the President concluded.
According to media reports, Ukraine is using music to shoot down Russian Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, which Russia calls invincible. A special team jams the missiles' satellite signals, replacing them with a well-known Ukrainian song.
Spain, as part of a new military aid package, will provide Ukraine with missiles for IRIS-T batteries, which are currently in short supply. On November 2, Germany also delivered additional Patriot systems to Ukraine. In addition, Ukraine is set to receive two more IRIS-T air defense systems.
