Zelenskyy open to Rome summit with Trump and Putin, Kremlin refuses

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed to hold a meeting with US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Rome. However, the Kremlin is against this idea, ANSA reports.
According to the publication, during a phone conversation, Trump asked Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni whether Italy would be willing to host a trilateral meeting in Rome on the war in Ukraine.
Meloni agreed, so US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and Finland on this matter. Zelenskyy supported the idea.
However, according to the publication's sources, Moscow will not agree to hold the meeting in Rome, as it believes that Italy is "too much on Kyiv's side."
Trump–Putin meeting
Earlier, The New York Times, citing sources, reported that US President Donald Trump intends to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week. This was confirmed today by the White House.
The American leader also plans to hold a trilateral summit with the participation of Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Kremlin chief himself stated that he is not against a meeting with Zelenskyy. However, for this to happen, he wants certain conditions to be created, which are "still far" away.
