President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he has not seen any agreed-upon "12-point European peace plan," which has been recently mentioned in the media, the Ukrainian president made this statement at a briefing, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, so far, there are only separate ideas and proposals from various European parties.
"It’s important in this matter whether I, as the President of Ukraine, have seen this plan. I haven’t. I think that answers all the questions. There are different European thoughts and proposals regarding a peaceful settlement," Zelenskyy said.
He also expressed surprise at statements about Russia’s alleged participation in potential negotiations.
"It’s strange to hear that Russia is at the negotiating table, since currently no European leader or the US president can force them to do so," the head of state emphasized.
Zelenskyy stressed that any further peace initiatives must be discussed with US involvement, as transitioning to a diplomatic phase is impossible without American political and military support.
"Our position is as follows: consultations are currently ongoing among advisors, there are several parallel discussions, but there is no ready-made plan yet. If Europe develops a concrete proposal, we will coordinate it with the US, as they have their own perspective," the president added.
Europe and Ukraine’s peace plan
According to Bloomberg, citing insiders, Ukraine is developing a peace initiative with its European partners, consisting of twelve key points.
The coordination of the process is expected to be carried out by a specially created peace commission, which will be headed by US President Donald Trump. However, it is still unclear whether this initiative has received official support from Washington.
Zelenskyy recently confirmed that at the end of the week, advisors from Ukraine and EU countries will hold a meeting to discuss in detail ways to end Russian aggression.
According to RBC-Ukraine, further progress in forming a final peace plan for Ukraine will largely depend on the outcome of talks between Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, which took place on October 30.
Meanwhile, Andriy Yermak, head of the Presidential Office, stated that Ukraine and its allies are jointly developing a peace plan, which will be a single document. According to him, there are no alternative "plans" from individual countries.
