Zelenskyy on May 9 ceasefire: To put it mildly, this is not fair

Russia has still not officially informed Ukraine about the agreements on a temporary ceasefire, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a conversation with journalists in Yerevan.
According to him, proposals for short-term ceasefires amid daily attacks and Ukrainian casualties look cynical.
"This is Russia’s war against Ukraine. A ceasefire for one day, after killing our people — that is, to put it mildly, not fair. Today, Merefa, yesterday Dnipro — dead, wounded, adults, children. And after that, to say: "Let’s stop for one day to hold a parade" — this is not serious," the President stressed.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine has no holidays, and after May 9, "they will start killing again."
'Ceasefire' for May 9
Last week, the Russian President and US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation. In particular, they discussed the full-scale war in Ukraine.
According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, Putin told Trump about a supposed readiness to announce a ceasefire with Ukraine during the Victory Day celebrations.
After that, the American leader said that he personally proposed to Putin to declare a "short ceasefire."
Commenting on this information, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Kyiv plans to clarify all the details during contacts with Trump’s team.
In addition, according to Zelenskyy, the head of the Kremlin wants to use the ceasefire only to protect his military parade on May 9. He noted that he wants the ceasefire to become a tactical deception.
