The key task for Ukraine to end the war is to defend its positions. In addition, the resistance of Ukrainians on the front line and joint work with the country's partners are crucial, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.

He noted that the full-scale war continues, and Russia doesn’t care about the efforts of global powers to achieve lasting peace. According to Zelenskyy, whether peace is possible does not depend on Russia's threats but on the conditions the world creates to make continued aggression impossible.

"And on what we ourselves will do to defend our state, our people, and our Ukrainian national rights. Right now, equally important are our defense of positions, our resistance on the front line, and our joint work with partners to secure stronger diplomatic positions," the President emphasized.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine's key task is to defend its positions. He noted that the stronger Ukraine's defense on the battlefield, the more it will be able to achieve diplomatically, and the more the world will help pressure Russia to end the war.

He also recalled sanctions against Russia, which will remain in force if Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to stop.

"The priorities are clear — to strike at Russian oil, Russia's technological base, its finances, and its assets that fuel the Russian war machine. The world will help us," the President said.

Zelenskyy also reported that this week, a meeting will take place between Ukrainian and US delegations working on the points of the US peace plan.

US peace plan

Recently, Western media reported that the United States has developed a new peace plan to end the war in Ukraine.

Kyiv was presented with a document consisting of 28 points, some of which were quite painful for Ukraine. Because of this, a meeting between US, Ukrainian, and EU delegations was held in Geneva on November 23 to refine the peace plan.

Financial Times reported that the plan was reduced from 28 to 19 points, although US President Donald Trump hinted that it now contains 22 points.

After the Geneva meeting, the US and Ukraine announced the creation of a framework document. The final version will be approved during a meeting between the leaders of both countries.
