Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the new President of Argentina, Javier Milei, according to the press service of the head of the state.

"Today, the word libertad - freedom - resonated frequently in the squares and streets of Buenos Aires. This unites us - Ukraine and Argentina. We truly value freedom, we genuinely defend it, and we are ready to strengthen freedom together," emphasized the President of Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also highlighted that he sensed signals from the new President of Argentina regarding future support for Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression.

"We felt it. I had the feeling that you are the kind of person who lives up to the words you speak. And I thought that we should support the new President of Argentina, say that we are confident that we can have a strong common future," added the head of state.

Zelenskyy's visit to Argentina

Zelenskyy is currently on a working visit to Argentina, having traveled to Buenos Aires for the inauguration of the Argentine president on December 10. As part of the event, the head of state held a brief conversation with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban.

During the visit, it was also announced that the President of Ukraine will travel to the United States on Monday, December 11, where he will meet with U.S. President Joe Biden.

On his way to Argentina, Zelenskyy managed to meet with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Cape Verde. This marks the first meeting between the leaders in the history of bilateral relations between the two countries.
