Zelenskyy meets with UK Foreign Minister to discuss global peace summit
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, the head of state reports.
"I informed him about the situation at the front. The weapons provided by the UK support package announced last week must arrive as soon as possible. First of all, armored vehicles, ammunition, and missiles of various types," Zelenskyy says.
In addition, they paid special attention to preparations for important international events that will take place soon: the G7 summit in Italy, the inaugural peace summit in Switzerland, the NATO summit in Washington, and the fourth summit of the European Political Community in the UK.
"I am grateful to the government and people of the United Kingdom for their continued support of Ukraine," the President adds.
UK assistance to Ukraine
The UK has recently allocated about 150 million pounds to strengthen Ukraine's energy sector.
In early April, it became known that London was considering sending prototype laser weapons to Ukraine to shoot down drones and missiles.
On April 10, Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a framework agreement on cooperation in defense equipment.
March 22 The UK Ministry of Defense announces a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 60 million pounds. It includes drones and air defense equipment.
In addition, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced an increase in military aid to Ukraine by 500 million pounds.
