Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, at the White House. Meanwhile, Special Operations Forces drones hit two Russian oil depots in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Ukrainian drones hit two oil depots in temporarily occupied Crimea

Special Operations Forces drones struck two Russian oil depots in temporarily occupied Crimea on the night of October 16–17.

The so-called federal state treasury institution of the Gvardeyskoye combine in the village of Karierne, Saky district, in temporarily occupied Crimea, was also struck.

Hungary will not arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest

Hungary, following Mongolia and Tajikistan, has refused to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin in response to the International Criminal Court warrant.

According to Szijjártó, the date and details of the Trump–Putin meeting will be announced later, after officials from the three countries discuss them. Budapest, he said, is ready to "ensure proper conditions" for the talks, as Hungary is supposedly "one of the safest countries in the world."

Russians shoot down their own warplane over occupied Crimea

Russians shot down their own military aircraft overnight while their air defense was operating against drones. All information about the crash is currently being collected.

“They were repelling Ukrainian attacks so actively that they ended up shooting down their own plane over Crimea today. The fighting continues. All information is now being collected in Crimea,” Pletenchuk said.
