Russians shoot down their own warplane over occupied Crimea

Russians shot down their own military aircraft overnight while their air defense was operating against drones. All information about the crash is currently being collected, said the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, on Apostrof TV.
“They were repelling Ukrainian attacks so actively that they ended up shooting down their own plane over Crimea today. The fighting continues. All information is now being collected in Crimea,” Pletenchuk said.
He added that after the overnight strikes on the temporarily occupied peninsula, another Russian oil depot caught fire.
Strikes on military targets in Crimea
Two powerful explosions were heard at night, October 17, in Simferopol and the Simferopol district. An oil depot is burning in Hvardiiske.
According to preliminary information, the oil depot in Hvardiiske, belonging to the ATAN gas station network, was affected. The network is part of the company Kedr LLC, which owns the largest chain of gas stations in Crimea, as well as storage facilities and a fleet of fuel trucks.
On the night of October 13, explosions were also heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Russians reported an attack by unidentified drones. Residents reported power outages in Simferopol and Feodosia. There may have been a hit on the Simferopol thermal power plant.
From Hvardiiske, the Russian army launches Shahed drones toward Ukraine. Warehouses with Russian drones are located there.
On the night of October 6, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the facilities of the Maritime Oil Terminal in the temporarily occupied Feodosia. The oil transfer complex burned for two days in a row.
