Zelenskyy meets with Trump in Paris: First details
On Saturday, the Ukrainian president visited Paris. He arrived there for the opening ceremony of Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral.
Initially, it was reported that Zelenskyy was scheduled to meet with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, but later it turned out that Macron decided to bring the Ukrainian president and Trump together at the Elysee Palace.
RBC-Ukraine reported the first details of Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump. It should be noted that this is the first meeting between them after the US election, but the second within a year.
Syrian rebels enter Damascus, Assad flees capital
On the morning of Sunday, December 8, the regime of Bashar al-Assad, who had ruled the country for more than 25 years, was overthrown in Syria. Syrian rebels entered Damascus and seized state media and government buildings.

Russia prepares resources for new shelling of Ukraine
Russia continues to prepare resources for the new shelling of Ukraine. The attackers do not change their tactics, reports the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andrii Kovalenko.
“The enemy, unfortunately, does not change its tactics and has prepared resources for new shelling of Ukraine at strategic aviation airfields,” Kovalenko said.
