Zelenskyy makes statement after failed talks with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made his first statement following a dispute with US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance. According to him, Ukraine needs a just and lasting peace, according to Zelenskyy's X.
"Thank you, America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you, President, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that," Zelenskyy noted.
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak also spoke about his visit to the United States.
"Security is not just a word. It is life. It is a future without sirens, without losses, without fear for the ones we love. Without real guarantees, war will return. It always comes back where there’s a chance for another strike," he wrote.
Yermak emphasized that Zelenskyy is fighting for Ukraine and everyone who defends a just and lasting peace.
"I support the President as he defends the interests of our heroic nation. In every situation. We are grateful to those who stand with us. To those who understand that Ukraine is not just a point on the map. It is Minas Tirith, holding back the darkness. We deeply thank the American people for their support. It brings closer the day when war will become just a memory," the Head of the Office emphasized.
Zelenskyy and Trump's meeting
Today, February 28, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived on a visit to the United States of America.
The head of state met with US senators and US President Donald Trump.
However, while talking to journalists, Zelenskyy and Trump quarreled over the war in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy reminded that the war in Ukraine had not ended under Barack Obama, Donald Trump, or Joe Biden. This provoked a sharp reaction from US Vice President J.D. Vance, and then from Trump.
After the dispute, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy left the White House early. The signing of the minerals deal between Ukraine and the United States was canceled.
Meanwhile, US leader Trump said that Zelenskyy was not ready for peace.
