Zelenskyy makes statement about Trump’s new deadline for Putin

The decision of US President Donald Trump to shorten the deadline for Russian President Vladimir Putin is a demonstration of strength that can bring peace closer, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Twitter (X).
"Clear stance and expressed determination by the US president – right on time, when a lot can change through strength for real peace. I thank President Trump for his focus on saving lives and stopping this horrible war," Zelenskyy said.
The president added that Ukraine is equally committed to peace. Kyiv wants to work tirelessly with Washington to make both countries safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
Trump’s new deadline
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that he had decided to change the terms of his ultimatum regarding secondary tariffs for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Now, the Kremlin leader no longer has 50 days to reach peace with Ukraine.
Later, the American President clarified that the Kremlin chief has 10 to 12 days left.
Earlier, Trump promised to impose 100% secondary tariffs against Russia. This is a direct threat not only to Moscow but also to its trade partners.
The US leader also stated that he is considering not only secondary tariffs but also secondary sanctions against Russia.
