Ukraine's sanctions against Russia and propagandists
Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a sanctions package against the head of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, the son of former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, and several other individuals and companies. As the president explained, this decision aligns Ukraine's sanctions with global sanctions against Russia.
Zelenskyy also signed sanctions against a number of Ukrainian citizens, including former presidential advisor Oleksiy Arestovych. The president justified these restrictions by explaining that these individuals had aligned themselves with Russian propaganda, justified the war, and harmed Ukraine.
Earlier, Zelenskyy approved several other sanctions packages, including restrictions against several Chinese companies. This occurred after Ukrainian intelligence received information suggesting that China might be assisting Russia with weapons.
