The Russian President Vladimir Putin may try to open a new front. Small countries are under threat, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said while speaking with journalists in Sweden.

Zelenskyy stated that if Putin is not stopped and there is no plan to achieve peace, and if there isn’t a ceasefire with a clear understanding of what comes next, Putin would try to open a new front somewhere else, because Ukraine is very difficult for him.

In his view, other countries are not ready for a war with Russia, and it is impossible to be fully prepared for it.

Zelenskyy added that Putin might be thinking about other countries — this one or that one — but not very large ones, because it’s not just about occupying them; holding the territory is important. He emphasized that, above all, the risks are for small countries and that Putin doesn’t care whether they are in NATO or the EU.

Putin may attack NATO

Previously, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Russia could prepare for an attack on NATO countries earlier than Alliance intelligence agencies anticipate.

The report suggests that Russia could pose a real threat to NATO by 2036.

Analysts point out that Russia’s long-range weapons and drone production represent a direct threat to NATO countries.

Russia is actively forming new military units and creating a strategic personnel reserve, which could be used both in Ukraine and in the event of a conflict with the Alliance. This indicates Russia’s ability to replenish its human resources despite losses.
