President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he does not need intermediaries in his communication with US President-elect Donald Trump. This applies to both intermediaries from other countries and intermediaries within Ukraine, the President stated at the meeting of the All-Ukrainian Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.

"I have been in direct contact with President Trump, we’ve had several meetings and conversations. I don’t need intermediaries from other countries or politicians promoting themselves on this," the head of state noted.

He also clarified that he doesn’t need intermediaries between himself and Trump within Ukraine.

According to Zelenskyy, he is currently "getting acquainted" with Trump and his team. Before the inauguration, the president-elect cannot answer many questions from the point of view of his legal capabilities.

Trump-Zelenskyy negotiations

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Donald Trump in September when he was still a presidential candidate. The Ukrainian leader presented his victory plan to the American politician.

Negotiations between Zelenskyy and Trump continued after the Republican won the US presidential election.

The last meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump took place on December 7 in Paris. According to Reuters, one of the topics discussed was security guarantees for Ukraine.
