Zelenskyy holds talks with Macron, meeting expected soon

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron and agreed to meet in the near future, Zelenskyy reported.
Zelenskyy emphasized that now is the "right moment to push the situation toward ending the war" and to make the most of the existing opportunities to pressure Russia.
According to him, pressure on the aggressor country is the key to resolving the conflict.
"We discussed with Emmanuel all the current aspects of diplomacy and our recent contacts with partners. I am grateful for the support. We agreed to meet in the near future," the president said.
Meeting at the White House on October 17
On October 17, 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
During the meeting, Zelenskyy emphasized the need to provide Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles, which would allow it to more effectively counter Russian attacks.
However, Trump expressed concerns about escalating the conflict and stressed that supplying such weapons could lead to unpredictable consequences.
Zelenskyy also proposed an exchange: Ukraine is ready to provide the United States with its advanced drones in exchange for Tomahawk missiles. However, Trump did not give a clear answer to this proposal.
Zelenskyy also said that after his conversation with the US president, Kyiv discussed this issue with European leaders, and some of them plan to appeal to the US administration on their own behalf.
