Today, February 2, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held another meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Among other things, the issue of shells and drones was discussed, according to the president's Telegram.

The president announced that they had discussed the Ukrainian production of drones.

"The plan for 2024. Contracts have been increased. We have planned an additional budget specifically for drones and will ensure its implementation," the statement said.

Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported on this topic.

According to the president, in general, this year more than 90% of drones on the front are of domestic production.

Umerov also reported on this issue.

Situation at frontline

According to the president, all key directions were considered at the Staff meeting. He marked the Avdiivka direction as particularly difficult.

Weapons production in Ukraine

As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted earlier, Ukraine must become so strong and effective that Russia will know that there will be an answer to its every strike. For this, it is necessary to strengthen the production of domestic weapons.

Ukraine already produces long-range weapons. For example, specialists managed to develop a new version of long-range Neptune missiles. In particular, it has recently become known about the start of serial production of drones, being analog to the Iranian Shaheds.

As Oleksandr Kamyshin, the head of the Ministry of Strategy and Industry, said, Ukraine has significantly increased the production of ammunition. For example, mines 42 times, artillery shells almost 3 times.
