Zelenskyy enacts National Security and Defense Council decision on synchronizing sanctions with EU

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted three decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine regarding the application of sanctions and signed the corresponding decrees, according to the website of the Office of the President.
Thus, Ukraine has synchronized its sanctions with the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th EU sanctions packages. It is also continuing preparations for the next sanctions packages to achieve full synchronization of its sanctions policy with its partners.
"Our state continues to prepare the next sanctions packages to synchronize its sanctions policy with its partners fully. Ukraine expects the international community to ensure the broadest possible reflection and support of Ukrainian sanctions in their respective national decisions," the statement says.
It is noted that in total, 403 individuals and 188 legal entities in Ukraine have been sanctioned. The synchronized decisions also cover individuals involved in human rights violations in Belarus, as well as decisions adopted by the European Union in 2011 and 2020–2025 regarding persons involved in human rights violations in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and military support of Russia in the war against Ukraine.
Sanctions against Russia
The West imposed sanctions on Russia in response to the occupation of Crimea in 2014 and the full-scale invasion in 2022. The restrictions cover high-tech exports, the banking sector, arms trade, and target hundreds of officials, businessmen, and propagandists.
Earlier, Zelenskyy issued a decree to enact the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) regarding the synchronization of sanctions pressure on Russia with international partners.
