If the front remains stable, Ukraine may arm and train new brigades for a new counteroffensive this year, stated President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the President, after the capture of Avdiivka by the Russian army, Ukrainian forces managed to stabilize the situation through wise steps.

The President added that if the front remains stable, Ukraine will be able to arm and train new brigades in the rear for a new counteroffensive this year.

"If you are not taking steps forward to prepare another counteroffensive, Russia will take them. That’s what we learned in this war: If you don’t do it, Russia will do it," added the President.

Plans for liberating territories

Earlier, the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Pavliuk, stated that the situation on the front remains challenging but under control. According to him, Ukraine plans to carry out counteroffensive actions this year.

Meanwhile, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced that recently the number of positions reclaimed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces exceeds the number lost.
