Russia strikes SOCAR oil depot

On the night of August 18, Russian forces attacked the oil depot of the Azerbaijani company SOCAR in the Odesa region using Shahed kamikaze drones.

Earlier, on August 6, Russia targeted a gas transport infrastructure facility through which Azerbaijani gas was supplied to Ukraine.

Amid such attacks by Russia, media reports circulated that Azerbaijan might lift its ban on supplying weapons to Ukraine. So far, Ukraine has only received humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan.

Additionally, in early September, the Defense Express portal reported that Ukraine might have received three MiG-29 fighter jets from Azerbaijan.
