The military command has decisions to strengthen Ukrainian forces' positions in the Pokrovske direction, according to the evening address of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy shared that he received an extensive report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on the situation at the front and the operation in the Kursk region.

"For the Pokrovsk direction, there are decisions to strengthen positions. Active operations in the Kursk region continue to replenish our state's exchange fund," the president noted.

Situation in the Pokrovsk direction

The Pokrovsk direction has remained the most challenging section of the front for several months.

Earlier reports indicated that the Russian army is just 11 km away from Pokrovsk, prompting local authorities to urgently call for residents to evacuate.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Russian forces are actively exploiting their advantage in manpower and military equipment, including artillery and aviation, in the Pokrovsk direction. Over 50 combat engagements occur there daily, with Russian forces losing up to 300 soldiers.

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would further reinforce the Pokrovsk direction.
