Ukraine will take part in the NATO summit, which will be held in Türkiye. The sides are currently coordinating the format of participation and the composition of the Ukrainian delegation, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated during the joint briefing with President of Moldova Maia Sandu.

Ukraine’s participation in the summit

The head of state confirmed that Ukraine will definitely be represented at the upcoming Alliance meeting.

However, details regarding the level of representation and the specific format of participation have not yet been disclosed.

“As for how, in what format, and who — it is still too early to say,” the Ukrainian president noted while speaking to the media.

Ukraine–NATO cooperation

As a reminder, in recent times, cooperation between Ukraine and the Alliance, as well as EU defense structures, has significantly intensified due to the unique technological experience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield.

In particular, NATO representatives have officially expressed admiration for Ukrainian combat robots, noting their ability to instantly adapt to changing frontline conditions.

At the same time, the large-scale use of drones has forced the Alliance to completely rethink its defense strategy, focusing on finding cheaper interception means and upgrading air surveillance systems.

Against the backdrop of these changes, the European Union has begun developing its own collective defense plan aimed at removing NATO’s bureaucratic obstacles and strengthening Europe’s autonomy.

To test these mechanisms, Brussels has already planned large-scale exercises that will serve as a test of the EU’s ability to act in case of aggression without direct involvement of US resources.
