Zelenskyy confirms Ukraine to receive Patriot and HIMARS missiles in first PURL aid packages

In the first military aid packages from the United States under the PURL program, Ukraine will receive missiles for Patriot and HIMARS systems, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a briefing with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola in Kyiv.
According to the president, Ukraine has received more than $2 billion from partners under the PURL program.
"In October, we will receive additional funds. I think we will have around 3.5–3.6 billion. The first two packages are worth $500 million each… In these packages, I will not disclose all the details, but there will definitely be missiles for Patriot and HIMARS," Zelenskyy said.
PURL program
The PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program is a new initiative by the United States and NATO aimed at accelerating arms deliveries to Ukraine. Within this program, Ukraine forms a list of priority needs in weapons, which is then submitted to NATO. Partner countries finance the purchase of American weapons from this list.
The funds are transferred to a special NATO account, and the weapons are purchased directly from the United States. In this way, the program ensures fast and targeted support for the Ukrainian army.
Yesterday, September 16, the administration of US President Donald Trump approved the first two military aid packages for Ukraine, financed by NATO. They may be sent in the near future.
These involve two arms deliveries worth $500 million under the PURL mechanism.
