Polish President Karol Nawrocki is engaged in domestic political struggles by fueling hostility toward Ukrainians and is repeating the misguided steps of former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, according to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Political struggle, radicalization

The head of state says attempts to gain political dividends by promoting hostility toward a neighboring nation are completely misguided. Such actions lead to the radicalization of society and could end in a very dangerous escalation.

"I believe that after making this decision, he continues his political struggle inside his country by stirring up hatred toward Ukrainians. That is what Orbán did, and I believe it will end badly," Zelenskyy emphasized.

He stressed that it is Ukrainians who are currently defending and dying for the security of Poland and all of Europe—not the other way around.

Symbolic gifts, electoral process

Zelenskyy also spoke about the systematic nature of the issue, recalling his first official visit to Poland. During their handshake, his Polish counterpart presented him with a book about the Volhynia tragedy.

At the same time, the Polish president, despite declarations of support, has never visited Ukraine.

The Ukrainian leader explained such behavior solely through electoral considerations, noting that Poland is scheduled to hold prime ministerial elections in 2027. Nawrocki is doing everything possible to ensure his party defeats Donald Tusk's political force.

To address the situation, Presidential Office head Kyrylo Budanov and his First Deputy Serhii Kyslytsia traveled to Poland. However, following the meetings, they only confirmed the president's conclusion that the Polish side is guided exclusively by political interests.

Other statements made by president

Recently, Ukraine has significantly intensified strikes on Russian military and energy facilities deep inside Russian territory. In particular, Ukrainian drones successfully struck an oil refinery in Tyumen for the first time using new technology developed by Fire Point, covering a route of more than 2,500 kilometers.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the arrival of new drones with a range of more than 3,000 kilometers and pledged a daily response to Russian terror.

Alongside the development of long-range weapons, Kyiv is negotiating the localization of production of scarce weapons systems. Ukraine currently has all the technical capabilities needed to produce its own missiles for Patriot systems.

According to the head of state, all European and American companies have already given their approval, and launching production lines in Ukraine now requires only the final decision and signature of US President Donald Trump.
