Zelenskyy calls for more Patriot and other air defense systems after Russian attack
Ukraine requires increased support to defend against Russian attacks, including additional air defense systems and missiles for them, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports.
Zelenskyy commented on Russia's overnight attack, during which the Russian forces launched over 130 strike drones at Ukraine. Around 60 drones were destroyed, while over 70 were lost due to location disruption.
"I thank all our defenders of the skies - anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups - everyone from various branches and types of our forces. It is important that we succeed in protecting our people and infrastructure from the majority of threats. Yet, unfortunately, from all of them," Ukraine's President noted.
Zelenskyy also called on Ukraine's partners to strengthen their support in light of the new massive Russian attacks.
"Ukraine needs support. More Patriots and other air defense systems, missiles for them, and stricter sanctions against Russia - all of this will enable us to protect even more lives. The world has the resources to help us achieve this goal," Zelenskyy emphasized.
