Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during the inaugural plenary session of the IV Summit of the European Political Community, stated that Europe must maintain unity in the face of a common enemy, following the example of Winston Churchill. This will signify that Putin made a mistake and cannot create a planned division.

"We are now at the plenary session, and indeed this place is associated with Winston Churchill. However, this palace is not solely connected to him. Among many, it is him who we remember with special esteem," said the Ukrainian president.

According to Zelenskyy, Churchill's courage made him who he became, emphasizing the politician's fight for Europe and its values.

"Will Europe be a continent that neither surrenders nor sells itself to tyrants? Will Europe be a continent of nations and communities that not afraid to fight? We all see how much the courage of previous generations helps us," Zelenskyy noted.

The Legacy of previous generations

The President of Ukraine emphasized that previous generations created a peaceful Europe for a long period, so now the cooperation of European partners must do the same.

"So that the children of our peoples, our nations, could later look back at us, at what we did, at what we promised," Zelensky said.

"We must be together. And this means that Putin missed. He could not create division in Europe. Europe must be decisive in preserving this value," Zelensky said.

At the same time, the Ukrainian president stressed that everyone chooses their own legacy.

"But if someone in Europe tries to 'solve their issues behind others' backs, at the expense of others, if someone wants to promote the war, promise something against our common interests at the expense of, say, Ukraine or other countries, then why should we even pay attention to those people?" Zelensky asked, noting that the European Union and NATO can address issues without such people.

Zelensky's visit to Britain

Recall that Zelenskyy arrived in the United Kingdom today. It was announced that he would participate in the European Political Community Summit.

During the visit, the Ukrainian president also plans to meet with British monarch His Majesty King Charles III, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, government officials, and heads of defense companies.

During these meetings, the leader of Ukraine plans to sign an agreement on bilateral cooperation in the defense industry.
