President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store. They discussed diplomatic efforts in detail over recent days, according to the president's Telegram channel.

"We are moving quite swiftly, and our team in Florida has been working with the American side. European representatives were also invited. What is important is that there is constructive engagement in these talks, and much depends on Russia feeling a real need to end the war. This must not be rhetorical or a political game on Russia’s part," Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, he emphasized that the real signals from Russia remain exclusively negative — assaults along the front line, Russian war crimes in border areas, and strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure continue.

"It is necessary that the world does not remain silent about all this," the president stressed.

Zelenskyy thanked Norway for its willingness to continue helping, both in applying pressure on Russia and in post-strike recovery efforts. Norway will also assist Ukraine with energy resilience.

"There is a shared sense that after the current work of our diplomatic team in America, it will be necessary to hold consultations in a broader circle of European partners," the head of state added.

Talks on the US peace plan

As a reminder, Ukraine, the US, and European partners have been working for nearly a month on refining a new peace plan proposed by Washington back in November.

Another round of talks took place in Miami in recent days with the participation of Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, as well as representatives of the US and Europe.

The sides discussed the 20-point US peace plan, security guarantees, and a future agreement on Ukraine's reconstruction.

Following the talks, Umerov said that Ukraine and the US had agreed on next steps and decided to continue their joint work in the near future.

On December 20, Vladimir Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev arrived in Miami for talks with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and US President’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. The peace plan to end the war will also be on the agenda. The talks will continue today.
