Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed his upcoming visit to Finland. According to him, he has scheduled meetings with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb, Speaker of Parliament Jussi Halla-aho, members of parliament, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, government officials, and representatives of defense companies.

The President plans to discuss investments in Ukrainian arms production and Ukraine’s European integration.

“We will also discuss Finland’s experience in building civil protection systems and shelters, strengthening sanctions against Russia, and coordinating efforts for a dignified end to the war. Europe must be at the negotiating table, and everything concerning European security should be decided together with Europe,” wrote the President.

Finland’s support for Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Finland has actively supported Ukraine in humanitarian, financial, and military-technical sectors.

In April last year, Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Alexander Stubb signed a bilateral security agreement, ensuring long-term support from Helsinki and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

In September 2024, Finland announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth €118 million.

By December, Finland had provided its 26th aid package, amounting to €25 million, which included winter gear for Ukrainian troops.

In early March, President Alexander Stubb stated that Finland is actively involved in efforts to develop a peace plan for Ukraine amid the ongoing full-scale war.
