Zelenskyy apologized to Trump for White House dispute – Witkoff

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy apologized to US President Donald Trump for the dispute in the White House, stated US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, according to The Hill.
"Zelenskyy sent a letter to the President. He apologized for that whole incident that happened in the Oval Office," Witkoff said.
According to him, Zelenskyy’s letter was an important step. There had been "a lot of discussion " on this issue among American teams, Ukrainians, and Europeans.
Witkoff added that he sees this move as "progress."
Zelenskyy-Trump dispute
On February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Washington, where he met with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
The two leaders clashed while talking to journalists. Trump reacted sharply to Zelenskyy’s remark that the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine would be felt even in the US.
Following the dispute, relations between Ukraine and the US deteriorated. Washington decided to suspend military aid to Ukrainian forces and halted intelligence sharing between the two countries.
Against this backdrop, Zelenskyy posted on X, stating that Ukraine was ready to engage in negotiations as soon as possible. He also suggested a ceasefire with Russia in the air and at sea. Trump welcomed this move.
