President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a new diplomatic week in Europe. Consultations with European leaders are planned, according to
the presidential press service.
“We are already starting a new diplomatic week - there will be consultations with European leaders. First and foremost, security issues, support for our resilience, and aid packages for our defense. Primarily, air defense and long-term financing for Ukraine. Of course, we will also discuss a shared perspective and unified positions in negotiations,” the president said.
Zelenskyy added that Ukrainian representatives recently held substantive talks with representatives of US President Donald Trump, and that NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov are now on their way to Europe.
“I expect from them detailed information on everything - everything that was said to the American representatives in Moscow, and the nuances that the Americans are ready to modify in negotiations with Russians and us,” the head of state concluded.
He added that yesterday Ukrainian representatives spoke with Trump’s special envoy Steven Witkoff and the US president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
“I am grateful for their readiness to work together 24/7. The American representatives know Ukraine’s core positions. The conversation was constructive, though not easy. We continue to work. Some matters can only be discussed in person: Umerov and Hnatov will report back to me, and I will also speak with European leaders - we have meetings scheduled in London and Brussels,” Zelenskyy summarized.
As is known, the Ukrainian delegation, led by NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov, traveled to the US for talks after US representatives visited Moscow on December 2.
Zelenskyy also spoke by phone with Witkoff and Kushner. The discussions focused on territorial issues and security guarantees.
The president is currently awaiting reports from Hnatov and Umerov, including on what the American representatives discussed in Moscow.
