Zelenskyy announces major Ukraine-Canada drone deal for September

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine expects to sign a Drone Deal with Canada as early as the end of September during the UN General Assembly, according to his press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Zelenskyy said that on Thursday, September 10, the countries took the first step toward signing the Drone Deal, and Kyiv expects to agree by the end of this month.
"We have signed the first step on the path to this. Our teams told us that within 90 days we could reach a Drone Deal, and then Mark says to me, "We'll reach it in 9 days." The teams immediately said, "Well, yeah, of course, a good proposal," and that is why we need to meet more often, and then we will have even more great news results," the president said.
He added that on Thursday, during his visit to Canada, the two countries signed a document on launching joint drone production. Canadian Prime Minister Carney, in turn, said that his country would increase production and provide one-third of the drones to Ukraine.
President Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine would receive 30% of the drones and, summing up, said that Kyiv intends to conclude a major deal at the end of September.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that his country had allocated $270 million to purchase interceptor missiles for Ukraine's air defense systems.
On September 10, Ukraine and Canada signed a declaration on a 100-year partnership. The document elevates bilateral relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic alliance and secures long-term support.
