President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Details of the conversation

Zelenskyy briefed Macron on Ukraine's immediate needs, focusing primarily on air defense systems. He noted that Russia is taking advantage of the moment, as the Middle East and domestic issues in other countries are drawing maximum attention.

Zelenskyy also emphasized that Russian strikes on Ukraine have become more insidious.

"We discussed how to counter this. In particular, we are working to expand the PURL initiative," the Ukrainian President said.

The leaders coordinated contacts with other partners and planned diplomatic activities for the coming weeks.

"We are working to increase pressure on Russia," Zelenskyy added.

Strengthening air defenses

Yesterday, on October 11, Zelenskyy spoke with President Donald Trump. They discussed Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and ways to strengthen the country’s air defense system.

The President also congratulated Trump on the peace agreement in Gaza and said, "If a war can be stopped in one region, then surely other wars can be stopped as well — including the Russian war."

Today, on October 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a new phone call with Donald Trump, the second in the last few days.
