Zelenskyy and Bulgarian PM discuss defense aid and EU accession talks
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks today, November 30, with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Nikolae Denkov.
"While in Zaporizhzhia, I had a conversation with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Nikolae Denkov, and thanked him for his powerful speech in the European Parliament and for his government's principled position in supporting Ukraine," the statement said.
Topics of discussion
The President mentions that he informed the Prime Minister about Ukraine's current defense needs, particularly concerning the reinforcement of our Air Force and artillery.
They also touched upon the subject of Ukraine's accession to the EU.
"I emphasized the importance of unity in supporting Ukraine's European integration and the long-term assistance of 50 billion euros," the President wrote.
Additionally, Zelenskyy separately invited Bulgaria to send its representative to the next round of negotiations on the Peace Formula, scheduled for the beginning of 2024.
Bulgaria's aid
Bulgaria has been providing various assistance to Ukraine from the early days of Russia's full-scale invasion. Recently, the Bulgarian parliament voted behind closed doors to supply Ukraine with non-operational S-300 missiles.
Moreover, Bulgaria will provide Ukraine with approximately 150,000 euros in humanitarian aid due to the complex situation caused by Russia's full-scale invasion. Recently, the Bulgarian parliament ratified an agreement to supply armored personnel carriers to Ukraine.
