Zelenskyy: All theories on former MP Farion's murder considered, including Russian trace
Law enforcement continues to investigate the murder of former MP Iryna Farion. All theories are being considered, including the one leading to Russia, states President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.
The head of state noted that there were new reports from Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko and Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk on the investigation into Iryna Farion's murder.
"All available surveillance cameras are being reviewed, witnesses are being questioned, and the territory of several districts is being inspected. All theories are being investigated, including the one leading to Russia," the president said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that all necessary forces of the National Police of Ukraine and the SSU are involved in the search for the perpetrator. The Interior Minister, Deputy Attorney General, and heads of the National Police and SSU are currently in Lviv.
Murder of Iryna Farion
On Friday, July 19, an unidentified individual shot public figure and former MP Iryna Farion in Lviv.
Farion was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head and was in critical condition. The former MP died in the hospital.
Law enforcement opened a criminal case regarding the shooting, which was later reclassified as intentional murder.
The search for the attacker is ongoing. There are reports online suggesting that the attacker was a man who had been observing Farion's house for several days.
