Zelenskyy after talks with Macron: More Mirage fighter jets to come

Ukraine will receive more Mirage fighter jets from France. This aircraft is already helping to protect Ukrainian skies, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this at a press conference with President of France Emmanuel Macron.
Zelenskyy thanked Macron for providing the Mirage fighter jets. According to the Ukrainian president, they have already become part of Ukraine’s air shield.
He noted that the French fighter jets primarily help defend against Shahed drones and other attack UAVs launched by Russia.
"We discussed increasing the number of Mirage jets," the president added.
Mirage for Ukraine
France’s President Emmanuel Macron pledged to provide Ukraine with Mirage 2000 fighter jets last year. Initially, the deliveries were expected to begin at the end of 2024.
Ultimately, the delivery of the first fighter jets to Ukraine was announced on February 6 this year by French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
On March 7, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Mirage jets were used for the first time to defend Ukraine’s airspace against Russian missiles and drones.
