In the early hours of September 15, explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia following a missile threat, according to a Telegram post by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

At around 2:29 a.m. Kyiv time, he warned of a threat of high-speed missile strikes in the region. A few minutes later, Fedorov reported that explosions had occurred.

In a subsequent message, Fedorov confirmed that the explosions heard by residents of Zaporizhzhia were caused by a Russian attack.

“The explosions heard in the city were an enemy attack on the Zaporizhzhia district. At this time, there are no casualties. The aftermath is being assessed,” Fedorov wrote at 2:39 a.m. Kyiv time.

According to the latest reports, a fire has broken out in the city as a result of the attack. Emergency services have been dispatched to the scene.

The attack destroyed private homes and damaged apartment buildings and industrial facilities.

Earlier, on the night of September 9, Russian forces also attacked Zaporizhzhia. Preliminary reports indicated that a building caught fire, and a woman was injured in the assault.
