Yemeni Houthis and Hamas terrorists launch missile attack on Israel

On the evening of March 24, Israel was attacked three times by missiles from the territories of Yemen and the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military destroyed all hostile targets, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
At 7:02 PM, sirens sounded in the towns near the Gaza Strip. The military later intercepted two missiles that crossed into Israeli territory from the strip.
Around 8:00 PM, sirens went off in several areas of Israel due to a missile launch from Yemen. The IDF intercepted the target before it crossed into the country.
At 9:00 PM, sirens sounded again in the areas adjacent to the Gaza Strip. Israeli air defense forces intercepted a missile that had entered the country from the region of fighting with Hamas.
Middle East escalation
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been conducting a military operation in the Gaza Strip after Hamas militants infiltrated the country, killing and taking hundreds of people hostage.
At the same time, the Houthi movement in Yemen has been targeting commercial ships passing through the country's coastline via the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea. Both Islamic movements are actively supported by Iran.
Since January 19, 2025, Israel and Hamas have been in a state of ceasefire and held several rounds of hostage exchanges. However, in early March, Palestinian militants began delaying the release of hostages, disrupting the new phase of the ceasefire, and from March 18, hostilities resumed with renewed intensity in the region.
The Israeli army recently reported the elimination of two high-ranking Hamas officials and military commanders.
Simultaneously, with the intensification of fighting in the Gaza Strip, the Houthi rebels in Yemen targeted an American aircraft carrier.
In response, US military forces launched a series of powerful strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen.
