Israel Defense Forces claim to have eliminated Hamas officials in Gaza

Israeli forces have claimed to have killed two senior Hamas officials and military leaders during strikes on Gaza, according to an official statement from the Israel Defense Forces press service.
"Over the past few days, the IDF and ISA struck terror targets and terrorists throughout the Gaza Strip, in order to degrade Hamas' military capabilities and to remove threats posed to the State of Israel and IDF troops," as the statement follows.
As a result of these strikes, the Israeli military reported the elimination of the deputy commander of the Hamas Gaza brigade, terrorist Ahmad Salman Aujah Shimali. He was responsible for conducting operations, planning offensive strategies, and forming the brigade's forces in preparation for the Hamas massacre that began on October 7, 2023, in Israeli territory. During the war, Shimali was also involved in the deployment of the Gaza brigade's forces.
The Israeli military also stated that, in addition to Shimali, they had eliminated the commander of the Hamas Shujaiya battalion, Jamil Omar Jamil Waliyu. It is reported that Waliyu had led the battalion for most of the war, replacing terrorist Wissam Farhat, who was killed in December 2023.
Waliyu was responsible for deploying the battalion's forces against the IDF troops and worked on restoring and reorganizing the battalion. Furthermore, he participated in an attack using an anti-tank missile on a yellow school bus in April 2011, which resulted in the killing of 16-year-old Daniel Wiflick.
"The IDF and ISA will continue to operate against the Hamas terrorist organizations in order to eliminate any threat posed to the State of Israel," forces emphasized.
On Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces announced the liquidation of the de facto prime minister of the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip and several other high-ranking officials of the terrorist group.
