Discussions in messaging apps
Starmer said that world leaders use WhatsApp group chats to coordinate positions on various international crises, including the situation in Ukraine.
Starmer’s stance on WhatsApp
The British Prime Minister admitted he is not a fan of the messaging app but is forced to use it for communication with other leaders.
"There are plenty of WhatsApp groups of different groups of leaders. I’m not a WhatsApp fan, I have to say. Because all that happens is I just get lots and lots of discussions on WhatsApp. But we have set them up for various groupings, particularly about things like Ukraine. So we can all be in touch with one another," Starmer said.
According to the Prime Minister, such groups allow politicians to stay in contact quickly and respond to events in real time.
Who is most active
Starmer also answered a question about which world leader is most active on WhatsApp.
"Alexander Stubb, Finland. He is a great one for getting us to talk," he said.
The former UK National Security Adviser Lord Peter Ricketts previously suggested that London should rethink its approach to relations with the United States and move away from the concept of a special relationship with Washington.
It was also reported that Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been warned that his relationship with Donald Trump is unlikely to be restored.
