Witkoff teases US peace plan for Gaza Strip: What is known

The US has prepared a peace plan to end the war between Israel and Hamas. A "breakthrough" is expected on this issue, states the US President’s special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, according to Ynet.
He said that the US presented a 21-point peace plan for the Gaza Strip and the wider region to several Middle Eastern leaders.
"I hope and am even confident that we can announce some breakthrough in Gaza in the coming days," Witkoff added.
The American official did not reveal any further details.
Trump’s promise to Arab leaders
Earlier, Politico reported, citing sources, that US President Donald Trump, during a meeting with Arab leaders, promised that he would not allow Israel to annex the West Bank.
According to the outlet’s sources, this promise is included in the US 21-point peace plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, on September 22, Fox News, citing an unnamed US official, reported that Hamas fighters sent a letter to President Trump requesting that he guarantee a 60-day ceasefire with Israel.
In return, the militants promised to release half of the hostages.
