Will Ukraine get Patriots? Trump responds

Ukraine has asked the United States to provide another Patriot system, said US President Donald Trump has confirmed during a conversation with journalists.
The journalist asked Trump if he could confirm the Wall Street Journal's information that the White House is considering sending another Patriot air defense system to Ukraine.
"They would like it. They've asked for it. They're very rare indeed because a lot of systems have been sent to Ukraine. But they would like another, and they made the request. We're going to have to take a look at it," Trump said.
He added that he regrets having to spend so much money on the war, as the Patriot system is very expensive.
"It's a shame that we have to spend so much money on a war that would have never happened if I were president. That's a terrible, terrible war over there. And truly a shame. It's very sad," he added.
Suspension of US weapons deliveries to Ukraine
In early July, Western media reported that the United States had temporarily halted shipments of certain types of weapons to Ukraine, including air defense missiles and precision-guided munitions.
The White House explained that this decision affects not only Ukraine but also other US partners, as American stockpiles have been significantly depleted. According to The Guardian, the pause in deliveries is linked to a shortage of missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
However, yesterday, Trump stated that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is responsible for the mass loss of human life, and therefore, Washington intends to provide Ukraine with more defensive weapons.
Trump also said that "we get a lot of bullsh**t thrown at us by Putin" and warned the Kremlin leader of a potential "surprise."
During a phone call with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump pledged to supply 10 interceptors for the Patriot system.
