Why rumors about '100-day Trump plan' are fake: Explanation from Ukraine's Ambassador to US
It has been reported that US President Donald Trump has allegedly developed a plan to end Russia's war against Ukraine in 100 days. Such rumors are fake, according to Ukraine's Ambassador to the US Oksana Markarova on Facebook.
The ambassador noted that even in the third year since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia easily inserts its provocations into the Ukrainian information space.
"For me, it was obvious that this was a planted story as soon as I saw that the plan was supposed to lead to something by May 9. There is no such date in the historical and informational space of the US at all," emphasized Markarova.
She clarified that even on May 8, Memorial Day, she is the only ambassador who comes to the World War II Memorial to lay a wreath and speak.
"So, as soon as you see that supposedly 'the Americans are offering something by May 9,' you can confidently apply critical thinking," the ambassador added.
Rumors about Trump's plan
Rumors circulated online claiming that Trump wants to hold negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by May 9, organize a truce for Easter, and end the war.
Head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak emphasized that such peace plans do not exist.
