US President Donald Trump has finally begun to realize that Ukraine is defeating Russia on and beyond the battlefield. However, there is more good news, American diplomat and entrepreneur Gregory Slayton said in a blitz interview.
"Well, hopefully Trump sees, one, that Ukraine is winning the war, which finally I think he's understanding that Ukraine's really beginning to win. Not total, because of course Russia — much bigger army, much bigger country. But Ukraine has done incredibly well," Slayton emphasized.
Against this backdrop, he recalled the unexpected visit to Ukraine by Laura Loomer, an American millionaire blogger and a favorite of the US president.
The diplomat pointed out that for a long time, she had been a staunch apologist for Russian President Vladimir Putin and supported him in every possible way.
However, Loomer recently changed her attitude toward Russia dramatically and eventually realized that she had been deceived by pro-Kremlin propaganda.
"Well, that's true, she was. Tucker Carlson, many others, right? But more and more of those people are coming to see that what they believed before was just propaganda. It wasn't true," Slayton noted.
According to the diplomat, this is a very favorable development for Ukraine, as Trump listens to the people around him and may shape his position under their influence.
"So, I'm hoping that more and more people will speak the truth to him (Trump — ed.) about the fact that Ukraine is a loyal and faithful partner, and a partner we need to protect," Slayton concluded.
Kremlin intends to resolve the Ukraine issue with Trump "man-to-man."
