Thermal springs in Ukraine
Kosyno, Zakarpattia
A resort that has become a brand. Here you'll find incredible open-air thermal pools, fountains in the shape of a coffee cup, a glass of wine, and a beer mug, all of which have local Zakarpattia flair.
The water comes from a depth of 1200 meters and contains up to 33 minerals. The temperature is around +41°C. It helps with joint, heart, and nervous system problems.
It's best to visit Kosyno on weekdays: fewer tourists, more chances to get true relaxation.
Berehove, Zakarpattia
Another "hot spot" in Zakarpattia. Several thermal pools operate here, including ones with radon water.
Local complexes are more affordable than those in Kosyno. If you're lucky, you can find a hotel with its own well.
Veliatyno, Zakarpattia
A less hyped but very cozy place with warm mineral baths. The "Tepli Vody" complex is a great option for a peaceful nature getaway. Prices are also affordable, and there’s a slightly higher chance of finding available spots in high season.

Hungary: Hévíz and Széchenyi Baths
Hévíz is a thermal water lake, the largest in Europe. You can swim here even in winter. The water has a sulfur smell, but the benefits are undeniable. The Széchenyi Baths in Budapest are a blend of architecture and wellness, right in the city center.
Slovakia: Bešeňová or Piešťany resort
Pools with mineral water, mountain views, developed tourist infrastructure, and prices more affordable than in Austria or Switzerland. Water temperature reaches up to +39°C. Especially beneficial for arthritis and respiratory illnesses.
Poland: Uniejów or Bieszczady
Uniejów has a modern thermal park, resembling a water park but with a healing twist. There's an atmospheric zone with mineral springs in Bieszczady. It is a lesser-known resort, so it's cheaper.
Romania: Băile Felix
Just near the Ukrainian border, Romania has a town for "non-tourists", a balneological resort known for affordable and effective relaxation. There are many hotels with thermal pools. The area is surrounded by beech and oak forests. The resort also offers popular mud therapy.
Iceland: Blue Lagoon
Perfect for those willing to pay a reasonable price for a wow experience. The thermal water is a milky turquoise color against volcanic rock. You will feel like you are on another planet. The Water temperature reaches up to +40°C. This isn't just a spa but an entire beauty and recovery industry.
Why you should try thermal waters
The minerals in hot water stimulate blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, and improve skin condition.
And after a hot bath in nature, your brain switches to "do not disturb" mode. Thermal resorts are not just a vacation. They're a prevention against future problems.
When to go?
August is the ideal month: fewer tourists, the weather still allows for sunbathing, and the warm water gives you a full reset. In autumn, it's a must for those wanting to heal without long lines at sanatoriums.
