Where Ukrainian Maldives are located
This place attracts travelers with its unique landscapes: crystal-clear turquoise water and white sandy beaches that truly evoke the feeling of being on a tropical island.
It is located in the Cherkasy district of the Cherkasy region, near the village of Sahunivka, approximately 30 kilometers southeast of the city of Cherkasy.
How this turquoise gem was formed
This unique landscape is not entirely a natural wonder in the original sense, although its beauty is undeniable. The village of Sahunivka lies on the banks of the Kremenchuk Reservoir, which was created in 1959–1961 due to the construction of the Kremenchuk Hydroelectric Power Plant.
Large-scale sand and material extraction works were carried out for the dam construction.

This is the most convenient method. From Cherkasy, it takes about 30–40 minutes (around 30 km) via the P-10 highway (Cherkasy – Kaniv), then turn toward Sahunivka. On-site, you can easily drive down to the Dnipro River banks.
By bus
Regular buses and minibuses depart from the Cherkasy bus station to Sahunivka. The journey takes about 40–50 minutes. Tickets can be purchased online or at the station.
