When could foreign troops be deployed in Ukraine. Expert weighs in

In Europe, the issue of deploying military forces to Ukraine is currently being considered under two conditions, but both are becoming increasingly unlikely, says Rafael Loss, a policy fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
According to the expert, first and foremost, Europe could send its troops if the United States administration agrees to a backstop — security guarantees for European peacekeepers and their support.
The second condition involves the introduction of a ceasefire regime, which would end the current stage of combat and force Russia to halt its aggression.
"Both of these look increasingly unlikely, and so Europeans will have to reconsider their options. But intense talks are continuing in different formats among European civilian and military leaders," Loss explained.
Peacekeepers deployment to Ukraine
Over the past year, Ukraine's Western partners have actively raised the issue of sending troops to Ukraine once the full-scale war ends. Recently, the Dutch Parliament supported a resolution regarding the possible deployment of peacekeepers. Sweden has not ruled out sending military forces either.
Meanwhile, the media reports that the European Air Forces (EUAF) could protect the skies over Kyiv and Western Ukraine from Russian attacks, which would help avoid escalation of the conflict with Moscow.
