Sweden does not rule out the possibility of sending peacekeeping troops to Ukraine. They could help maintain sustainable peace, Sweden's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marie Malmer Stenergard, says in an interview on Sveriges Radio.

According to Stenergard, Swedish peacekeepers could be sent to Ukraine if the need arises. However, first, Europe must think about how to negotiate a "fair and sustainable peace that respects international law."

"When we have such a peace in place, it will need to be maintained and for that, our government is not ruling out anything," said Sweden's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also announced that he is ready to send British troops to Ukraine. The Head of the UK government assured that he speaks of this not lightly, as there is a potential danger for peacekeepers. However, this step reflects Britain's desire to contribute to ensuring security guarantees for Ukraine.

In addition, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously noted that the number of foreign peacekeepers in Ukraine could reach up to 110,000. He also added that countries with maritime capabilities, such as the UK, are especially welcome to participate in this mission.

At the same time, the Pentagon chief recently stated that the involvement of American troops in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine is excluded. However, American media, citing officials, reported that Trump might agree to the deployment of US troops to protect rare earth mineral deposits.

Moreover, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski had earlier predicted that European troops would indeed be sent to Ukraine. According to him, this could happen if agreements are made regarding the cessation of the Russian-Ukrainian war. This is precisely what Donald Trump has been advocating for.

According to media reports, European countries have already started preparations for a potential peacekeeping mission. European nations have begun to study what forces might be needed. France and the UK are leading the efforts to create the mission.
