WhatsApp update spotted: How it will change web version

The web version of WhatsApp may soon receive built-in voice and video calling features, reports WABetaInfo.
Update details
Currently, users who want to call someone through WhatsApp are forced to use the mobile app or the desktop version for PC and Mac. However, WABetaInfo has discovered new call buttons in the web client, indicating a possible implementation of the same features in all versions of WhatsApp.
Last month, WhatsApp updated the interface for beta testers by adding a drop-down call menu in individual and group chats. Now, it seems that developers continue to work on expanding the calling functionality.
WABetaInfo published a screenshot of a supposed group chat in the browser, where familiar camera and phone icons appeared for the first time – just like in the mobile app.
When the new feature becomes available to a wider audience, it will make WhatsApp a more universal communication tool, similar to Microsoft Teams, where users can communicate and hold meetings directly from the browser, without the need to install an app.
